Long Bio

Minister, Psalmist, Teacher, Motivational Speaker, Singer-Songwriter, Model, Jewelry Artist and Designer

Singing before she was able to speak words, Callie Bennett, was adopted at 4 months old from Seoul, South Korea and was raised both on and off the Navajo Reservation. Immediately, her mother noticed her gifting, and at a very young age, Callie began to develop a heart and passion not only for singing, but for all musical arts. At 5 years old, her mother placed her in piano lessons, at 7 singing lessons, and 13 guitar lessons. Today Callie continues her exploration of instruments and is a multi-instrumentalist and enjoys learning and singing in multiple languages.​

Callie is in full time ministry and is highly involved with various ministries across the state of Arizona.  Along with her leadership role as a Minister, Psalmist, and leading praise and worship at various churches, she has also been an Executive Administrator, Public Relations, Event coordinator and more throughout her 20+ years of ministry. She has and continues to minister at churches, women's conferences, lead worship at various conferences including youth conferences, she has performed on the Trinity Broadcasting Television(TBN) Network of Arizona and various television stations, and today with her experience in ministry she helps to raise up Praise and Worship leaders in the Body of Christ giving mentorships, trainings, workshops, and music lessons coming alongside Pastors in their ministries giving support and helping to strengthen the Christian Churches.

Concerning her musical journey, her first breakout album was entitled ‘Glorify’ and was released in 2011, which was nominated in the year 2013 Native American Music Awards for Best Female Artist and Best Gospel/Inspirational Recording.

​

In 2016, Callie and her music had the amazing opportunity to be a part of the documentary movie “Awakened: The Spiritual Destiny of the First Americans” and through the soundtrack album of the film released 3 of her singles “Rise Up”, “Awake, Arise & Shine” , and “How Great Thou Art” in the Diné (Navajo) language.

In the year 2017 not only was Callie’s single ‘Awake, Arise and Shine’ nominated in the Native American Music Awards for Best Female Artist of the Year and Best Gospel Inspirational Record of the Year but won the Best Gospel Inspirational Record of the Year Category.

In 2017 her highly anticipated album entitled ‘Awake Arise Shine’ was released in the fall.

​

In her album ‘Awake Arise Shine’, Callie had the amazing opportunity of having the involvement of Larry Dunn, an original member from the world renown group ‘Earth, Wind and Fire’, on the single track of her album entitled ‘Hope’.

In 2018 her album ‘Awake Arise Shine’ also won Best Gospel Album of the year in the Indigenous Music Awards in Canada, and Callie was nominated four times in the Native American Music Awards for Best Female Artist of the Year, Best Americana Recording of the Year, Best Pop Recording of the Year, and her song “All Nations, Tribes, and Tongues” was nominated for Best Song of the Year.

In 2019 Callie’s first music video was nominated in the Native American Music Awards for Best Music Video Narrative and in the same year at the Native American Music Awards Ceremony, Callie and her Father performed live on stage.

Callie's Father, Ellson Bennett, released his first studio narrative album "My Anthology" featuring Callie in instrumentation and vocals, and his single from the album "My Supplication" was nominated for Best Indie Single of the Year at the 19th Annual Native American Music Awards.

 

Also in November of 2019 on Veteran’s Day Callie released her single “The

Start Spangled Banner” in the Navajo language.

During the lockdowns on the Navajo Nation in the year 2020, Callie started her Jewelry Business of designing and hand crafting jewelry to make available to the public. Today her jewelry consists of handmade handcrafted beadwork in the Native American techniques and Navajo inspired traditional jewelry with modern touches handmade and designed by her. 

​

In 2021 Callie released her 3rd Studio Album "Navajo Gospel Hymns: Priceless Treasures" which was her first Navajo Gospel Album, and in the same year stepped into the waters of fashion designing with the Navajo owned apparel company Hool'aagoo and to this day she has designed shirts, skits, dresses, scarfs, and shawls.

​

In 2023, Callie released her Single "Rez Chick" in collaboration with fellow Native American Music Award Winner and Hall of Fame Living Legend Keith Secola. Alongside with its release, they released a Music Video and a Behind the Scenes for the Music Video.

​

In 2024 Callie released her singles "This is it", "Diné Daniidlí", and "Healing of the Nations", which was a collaboration with the Christian Rapper Terry Minor Jr. 

​

In the same year she was nominated 3 times in the Native American Music Awards; Rez Chick in Best Country Recording, This is it in Best Pop Recording, and Rez Chick Music Video in the Best Music Video category. 

​

In 2025, Callie and Keith Secola won Best Music Video for their music video Rez Chick now live for viewing on youtube. 

​

Callie has also had the honor to open in concert for the well known Christian band Kutless, and sing the United States National Anthem in the Diné (Navajo) Language at various places including schools, veteren’s honoring events, and the Phoenix, Arizona’s Heard Museum’s Annual Indian Fair & Market.

​

Because of her many options with styles and sounds, Callie desires to explore the exciting possibilities of involving indigenous culture with her music. Callie also has a passion to explore her giftings in photograhpy and the fine arts. She has also volunteered in her local Navajo Chapter Government with the Navajo Nation, and continues to work on musical projects and collaborations, and continuously travels extensively for ministry purposes. 

​

Callie has a heart to reach out to all nations with encouragement, hope, faith, and love. She desires to see lives changed, transformed, and restored through the power of word, music, and any other avenues that will help bring positive change to the youth, communities, and families for the better.

​

Today Callie is based out of the state of Arizona, and her music is inspired by her family and by her inherited Navajo/ Diné Native American culture. Not only have the Navajo/ Diné People adopted and embraced her, but she has embraced the People and their Navajo/Diné heritage as her own. 

From her Great Grandmother she received the name ‘Asdzáá Taachii’nii in Navajo meaning Red Running into Water Woman.

Her family has also been adopted with the Lakota Nation and she’s been honored with the name, Pejuta Lowanpi, Singing Medicine.
